Whit Friday 2007

Friday 1st June

The band once again made the long-haul trip to the Saddleworth moors to participate in the annual Whit Walks in Greenfield village and then compete in the Whit Friday marching contests held at the many villages in that part of the world. We chose "The Middy" for our road march and Bramwyn as our contest march. Our regular conductor was sadly unavailable for this trip so thanks go to solo Euphonium James Kelloway for stepping in to fill the post for the day. Here's a round up of how we got on:

A few months after, we discovered that our performance at Delph had been included in the annual Whit Friday Best of CD. Saints will be returning to the Whits in 2009.

Here are some pictures from that day. Select one to view a close-up version and each one will open in its own window.
